Dart was an abandoned orphan who grew up on the streets of Freeport, using illusion to keep themselves, not out of trouble, but at least free. Recently, things got too hot in Freeport, and so Dart stowed away on a merchant ship heading north, into the Protectorate.

Sneaking off the ship in the small city of Talon, Dart set up in the market square, busking under an illusion of humanity. A flicker of wild magic compromised the disguise, and he was chased off by a crowd, fearing demons. Branwyn and Prexi intervened and took Dart in.
